Strategi Pendayagunaan Zakat Produktif dalam Penguatan Pendapatan Mustahiq Program Lapak Berkah IZI

Abstract

Zakat is one of the Islamic economic instruments that plays an important role in improving community welfare and reducing poverty. One form of zakat utilization that has developed in recent years is productive zakat, namely the distribution of zakat funds as business capital assistance to enhance the economic independence of mustahiq (zakat beneficiaries). This study aims to analyze the management of productive zakat utilization in increasing the income of mustahiq through the Lapak Berkah Program of the Indonesian Zakat Initiative (IZI) South Sulawesi Branch. This research employed a descriptive qualitative field research approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving program managers and beneficiary mustahiq. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the management of productive zakat utilization in the Lapak Berkah Program is implemented through planning, beneficiary selection, distribution of business capital assistance, and business mentoring. The program contributes positively to increasing beneficiaries’ income and supporting business development. The assistance provided not only helps fulfill business needs but also encourages sustainable economic independence among mustahiq. However, strengthening the monitoring and evaluation aspects of the program remains necessary to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of productive zakat-based economic empowerment programs.
