About the Journal
Al-Azhar Journal of Islamic Economics (AJIE)Â is a peer-reviewed journal published by Program Studi Ekonomi Syariah, Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam (STAI) Al-Azhar Gowa. This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
This journal aims to provide a venue for academicians, researchers, and practitioners to publish or review articles onIslamic Economics and Contemporary Issues. The scope of the articles published in this journal deal with a broad range of topics, including:
- Islamic Economics and Contemporary Issues
- Sharia finance (sharia investment, global sukuk, Islamic index)
- Islamic financial institutions (sharia koperasi, sharia banking, baitul maal wa tamwil).
- Sacrificial economics (shadaqa, wakaf, other Islamic philanthropies).
- Muslim lifestyle identities (sunna fashion, hijab styles, sharia dating).
- Creative economics (women empowerment, indigenous economics, pesantren business).
- Economic thinkers (Indonesia, Southeast Asia, Asia).

We are published bi-annually (January and July) in English, Arabic, or Bahasa. The editors, hence, are pleased to announce a Call for Papers for the next issue to be published.
